How Much Pick & Mix Do You Need for a Party? 🍬

How Much Pick & Mix Do You Need for a Party? 🍬

You've planned the cake, decorations, drinks and food.

Then comes the important question:

How many sweets do we actually need?!

Too little and the sweet table disappears in ten minutes.

Too much and you're eating fizzy sweets for breakfast for the next three weeks.

Although... we've heard worse problems. 😂

A simple sweet guide

As a starting point, if sweets are just one part of your party food, you can plan around 100–150g of sweets per person.

So roughly:

10 guests: 1–1.5kg
20 guests: 2–3kg
30 guests: 3–4.5kg
50 guests: 5–7.5kg

If sweets are one of the main attractions or guests will be filling bags to take home, we'd go a little more generous.

Think about who's coming

A children's birthday party, adult girls' night and huge family celebration aren't going to eat exactly the same amount.

Also consider whether you're serving:

Cake
Desserts
Party bags
A full meal
Other snacks

The more other food you have, the less pick & mix you'll generally need.

Variety matters too

You don't necessarily need enormous quantities of every sweet.

A colourful selection of different sweets makes your table feel much more exciting.

Choose a combination of fizzy, jelly, gummy, colourful and classic favourites so everyone can find something they love.

And if planning all of that sounds like work?

That's exactly what Sweeties is here for. 💗🍬
